I'm So Cruel

Today was welcomed rainy day but the old farm dog didn't take well to that. This dog who never used to come in the house at all was asking to come in, look at those paws! There was no way, not a hope in the world that I was going to let her in. I felt bad when I got the big puppy dog eyes, but I was relentless and refused to open the patio door. There's plenty of other places for the dog to go when it rains, the garden shed, on the patio there's a covered area, she likes to crawl in between the hot tub and the house... so nope, no way.

Tonight I sit here and now wonder, why is this dog in the front bathroom? I'm a softie after all I suppose. The dog is getting old and it might continue to rain all night and I don't want to feel bad the entire night, plus floors are washable.  Such is life.

  2. Ah, you softie, you! ;-) I would have done the same for my dog. We just keep an old bath towel near the front door for those occasions.

    Have a great evening!

  3. Even before getting to the end of your post I just knew he would be inside somewhere. Being a softy is not that bad.

  6. That's really nice of you!

I don't have a dog, but I used to and I think I would have let her in too ;)

By the way, she may be old but she's really cute!

  7. I am always interested who is the boss - we or our pets. With all my will and power and much bigger brain size, the answer is obvious. Little manipulators.

  9. Luize that I do, sometimes too big of a heart but what the heck, life's to short to have regrets or big old puppy dogs sleeping out in the rain. :-)

Rick, now that would have required thinking and some manipulation on my part to be able to wipe her feet! She just make the floor a bit dirty, no big deal, I do believe that's what mops are made for. :-)

Davine, you're really getting to know me!

Si, there's no carpet which was involved here... thankfully. On the farm it's linoleum and wood until the hallway which she knew not to come near!

Sherry, glad to have put a smile on your face, it was actually pretty funny!

    M. thank you. I adore dogs but dogs with dirty feet, hmmm, ya I still love her! :-)

Irina, yup manipulative that's what she is, you hit the nail right on the head! lol

Joseph thanks for validating that for me! hehe

    Have a wonderful day/evening everyone!
