Today the cupboards came down, I'm had them lowered so that I don't need a stepping stool to reach my plates. Most cupboards are high enough as it is but these cupboards seemed to be exceptionally high.
I was up on the cupboards on the opposite side of the guys and noticed that there was something up there, well other than the dirt and the grime. Why is it that some people fail to notice the the tops of cupboards need cleaning? The grease and dust combined over years has to be one of the largest germ collectors in a home in my opinion, maybe I'm just a clean freak but I've totally regressed here... the item which was on top of the cupboards was hilarious and it was obvious that it had been there for a number of years, the grease and grime on the VHS was just as bad as the cupboards themselves. Here's what I found...
At least it was out of reach of children and it gave us three a good old belly laugh! And it's said if walls could talk, my cupboards told me more than I cared to know today!
And now on to Sunset Sunday which has been 100% inspired by Scott, I'm actually posting it on Sunday instead of a Monday. This is my city sunset photo, I can actually see the sunsets now that I'm further away from the downtown core of the city and I'm lovin' every minute of it!

I just caught up on some reading. That is a very interesting thing to find on top of the cupboards. I wonder who hid it a man or a woman? I love the green you have painted the walls. That photo of you and your grandaughter is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteDavine from the nasty title of the video I'd venture a guess that it was a man. I'm still chuckling!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the compliments on my color choice and the photo of my granddaughter and me, she's so much fun and so adorable!
I haven't noticed you posting lately, have you been busy on your end? I hope all is well in your world! Take care... good night Davine, I'm going to have an early night... I think!
Maybe you should have left the grease and dust on top of the cupboards if they're doing that good a job of collecting germs - that way you'll have a lot less on the counter ! ;-)
ReplyDeleteAnd I wonder what went on in that kitchen to make the VHS end up on top too ! Yep - better not ask.
And a nice contribution for Sunset Sunday ! (I'm sure the sun set here too but we couldn't see it for the rain!) Have a great week,
Funny! I read very attentively how your renovation goes, good luck!
ReplyDeletelol, typical, I only ever find mouldy bread or bits of cupboard left over by the builder! Your like me a short ar$e, I have a stool for everything except getting in and out of the bath and bed lol.
ReplyDeleteLove the sunset photograph.
Si
What a find:). The sunset is awesome.
ReplyDeleteHappy new week dear one.
Nice candid photo of home improvers :-)
ReplyDeleteMake sure you do not hire Tim Allen - LOL
Greetz,
Joseph
Are they putting the same cabinets back? Just lowering by one ceramic tile on the backsplash? Funny discovery!
ReplyDeleteNice sunset shot to share. Was the movie any good? ;^) I did a kitchen remodel a couple years ago where I took the cabinets down so this brings back memories. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteRick I never quite thought of leaving the grease and dirt quite that way, hmmmm still nope! As for the VHS ya,I'm not even going to go there but when I thank God for my day tonight I'll also thank Him for bleach! lol If the sun has risen this morning for you, I'm sure that it set last night as well, the photo you chose was fantastic! I loved the reflections in it.
ReplyDeleteIrina, thank you... so far so good less the mistake in the last 3 cans of paint, they gave me an eggshell instead of satin. I'll have this corrected and back into the land of painting for me!
ReplyDeleteSi you're hilarious! But I sure can relate, my bed is even so high that I darn near need a stepping stool to crawl in at night! :-) Thanks for the compliment on my shot. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteRegina, thank you. I often say "Who has more fun than I do?" ;-) There's seldom a dull moment in my world! And a very happy and blessed week to you as well.
ReplyDeleteJoseph who needs Tim Allen when I have these two fine young men? They're friends of my son and do an awesome job plus they both have a great sense of humor. It was a fun way to spend a Sunday morning! :-)
ReplyDeleteDavid, very good, you pegged this just right. Being a student I'm going to have to just wait for new cabinets until I'm out in the world working. In the interim I can at least reach my dishes.
ReplyDeleteI asked the boys if they wanted to keep the video, we all just laughed... I doubt that they even own a VHS. The one young fella is only 19, he wasn't born into a VHS world! lol
Thank you Scott and you'll have to ask the garbage man if the video is any good. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see photos of your new kitchen, I love the before and after shots. The staff at the local home hardware store know me very well now, I was asked yesterday if I have before and after shots of the work I'm doing, I told them I do. I guess that they have a contest coming up which would be fun to enter and the ideas shared will be fantastic!... glad that I'm photo happy!
Great find! That's very funny. Still own a VCR?
ReplyDeleteI will take photos of some finds we found at a home we first owned.
They were "end of the world" books.
Nothing scandalous like your find.
;-)
No VCR's here in this house Janell, maybe the garbage man has one! :-)
ReplyDeleteYou still have the books? I'd love to see them, how long ago was that and when was the world supposed to end according to these books? Interesting find.
