Let There be Light

I know that this photo is blurry, it's one of my drive by shootings but check it out, it's the sun!  This is the closest I've come to taking a sunset photo in some time now and even if it was -35 with wind chill it was still light out at about 6:00pm when I shot this photo. Our days are getting longer, now I wonder what we can do to warm it up a bit, it's March already and this is getting to be crazy making but I was a wee bit crazy before the winter so I can't blame this long, cold winter for this!

  1. I'm happy that the sun has deigned to show itself in Canada. Portent of spring? There is a lot of sun in St. Lucia and I'm thinking that a giant space mirror could be positioned over Edmonton to provide it tropical weather all year long.

    Somebody - quick, call NASA!

  6. Ola soon enough, but not, we'll have spring! ;-)

Andy as long as you don't answer yourself you won't have to be a practice subject for me! lol

Joseph, thank you. Even though my days are hectic right now and will be for a wee bit, I'm in the final month and a wee bit of this semester, I'll still take my photos... even if they're drive by shootings. ;-)

Cheers. Have a great day everyone!

And this was the evening sun, shot at about 6:00pm, our days are finally getting longer, it's no longer dark at 4pm but the snow is still coming down. I can't remember a year like this in forever, crazy I tell ya, just plain out crazy!

  13. Kathy so do I, I had to double check if I put 6:00am and nope I did put 6:00pm! lol If the sun comes out these days it's generally in the later part of the morning or in the afternoon. I can't wait until the morning I wake up and the sun is beaming down on my face! Heck of a way to start of the day. :-)

  14. Drive-by shootings - of the 'right' kind - it's your style, Darlene ! I'm surprised you recognized that yellow/orange blob after the winter you've had (are still having ?).

    ;-)

Good to see you haven't put your photography on hold despite the busyness ! Weekend's coming up - get ready to enjoy.

  15. Rick... heavy sigh... yup we're still having winter, the winter that just won't end! It was snowing today and down to about -20.. oh joy! I'm keeping the faith, it will end one day, I just wish that day would get here soon! The entire week is calling for cold and more snow.. YUCK! When I grow up I'm going to winter in Florida, or California, or anyplace but here! Well anyplace without snow that is.

Weekend is starting right now, too bad it's going to be mostly homework but tomorrow night it's going to be an awesome evening, I'm going to spend some time with my granddaughter. I love nights like that!

And I hope you have an amazing weekend as well. Take as many photos as you can get away with! ;-)
