A New Toy

Today I received the lens I ordered online about 5 days ago. Needless to say I had to check it out. I'm still not quite sure what I'm doing with it but from what I've seen thus far I know that I'm going to have me some fun!

I went out for a bit of a walk down by one of the man made lakes nearby. There were ducks, geese and a few other species of birds... a place I shall return to one of these days.

After I returned home I had to check it out indoors, I was in search of things to take photos of in my house and came up with a new tea I bought today. It's pretty good but I'm sure it'd be much better if I didn't forget to take the tea bag out... I was too busy playing!

I got my new lens just in time for the weekend! Oh, it's a Canon 70-200mm f1:4.

Thank you Joseph and Rick for helping me choose this lens, I'm sure I'll have more questions for both of you soon enough. ;-)

Have a fantastic weekend!

That tea looks intriguing! I like the vanilla teas, my favorite is a Bigelow Vanilla Carmel, it's like drinking an ice cream sundae! :)

  6. Cinthia, nature is one of my favorite places and to be able to capture it makes my heart dance! Thank you. I was browsing through some of your photos and you do magnificent work! I'll be back to visit your site another day when I have more time! Enjoy your weekend!

Regina the price wasn't too bad, I saved quite a bit ordering this lens online. If you click on this link it will take you to the site I ordered from. I had some help from fellow bloggers making up my mind which lens and where to buy it at so I'm now passing it on to you. Enjoy your weekend!

  7. Davine, I like my 75-300mm as well... when I purchased the camera I got the kit which included this lens as well as a smaller one but I can easily see it getting placed aside. Maybe I'll sell my 75-300 now that I have this one. It's a bit heavier of a lens I felt but nothing I can't handle and the quality of the photos is unbelievable! The larger lenses do give many more options, the next one I'd LOVE to get is a wide angle lens. I see now that this camera hobby can get pretty pricy! I'd best be a good girl for the rest of the year and see if Santa might bring me a wide angle lens for Christmas! lol Enjoy your day and a very Happy Mother's day!

Andy thank you. I don't know if I'd like to drink a sundae! lol The tea sounds delicious, like a after dinner tea. And a wonderful weekend to you as well!

Saz thank you and new toys are the best! I'd love to play all day with this but best get off my computer soon and get ready for a very special event! I'll post on it tonight. ;-) Enjoy your evening, if I'm thinking correctly you are about 7 hours ahead of where I am.

Karen thank you ever so much. I know that this newest toy will bring me hours of pleasure. Today I'll see what more I can do with it. I'm such a rookie, I know so little about taking photos but I'll play long enough to figure it all out! Have a fantastic day and a very wonderful Mother's day to you as well!
