Windy City

The winds have been blowing like crazy here this past few days, today I heard on the radio that they were gusting anywhere from 50-70kms an hour. With wind like this things are bound to get blown over or blown down...

The Sign of Hope ... well let's just say that I hope nobody was under this sign when it came down!

Flags were blowing in the wind.... that song just entered my mind "The answer my friend is blowing in the wind" Bob Dylan sang this song years ago, he wrote and recorded this the year I was born. I was going to say it's a very old song but that'd make me old so I won't go there!

After a non stop busy day and fighting with the wind it was nice to go out to dinner with a couple of good friends, we went out for East Indian cuisine and it was spicy but delicious.

Great, I just played that song and now it's stuck in my head... the answer my friend is blowing in the wind, the answer is blowing in the wind.

  2. I love that song, and there are a few new artists that have made it even better...! Funny thing I always thought Chicago was the Windy City until lately....it seems many places, even here in Minnesota, and yesterday they were strong again! But hey the sun was shining like crazy...it was a beautiful Sunday! I like how they put the napkins on the table! Looks like a really nice place! Have a great week ahead!

  7. Beautiful pictures, as always. The wind here has brought in abnormally cool temperatures (just after I planted my tomatoes and peppers, so they'll need extra attention the next few nights)

  8. Ola we never did get the rain from those nasty rain clouds, the wind must have blown it right over.

Karen thank you for the link, I'll check it out. The wind was needed to dry up the fields, they should be good and dry after these strong winds. Generally in May we get at least one last bout of snow, hopefully this wind took the snows place this year. We seem to get a lot of the same weather, that's interesting.

Si for the better part of the day the sun was still shining, it reached about 18c so it wasn't cold, it was just so windy.

Andy lol, that could easily be!

Flora I sure hope your weatherman is right! :-)

Kathy the old folks say to never plant until after the May full moon. If I can I plant on the May long weekend, the moon is starting to get pretty full now from what I saw last night. I hope your plants thrive and do well!

    Have a fantastic day everyone!

  9. After eating a full curried meal, I hope the wind wasn't blowing in-doors for the rest of the evening...

  10. Be careful with the wind!
Weather. It has been the most solid and safe friend, and now it is dangerous and unpredictable. I thought it happened only with people))

  12. Wow, the second photo is beyond words, Darlene. Very creative, I am not a fan of electrical lines, but you make me love them in that photo :-)

  13. LL no worries, I don't generally eat enough of anything to worry about such things and even if I did I live with my dog and if I can tolerate her passing gas she's just going to have to deal with me doing the same!

Irina unfortunately the weather has turned to be like some people! I like the metaphor. :-) I'm glad I had this extra 10 pounds on me or I just might have gotten swept off my feet and not in the sense I'd like to be.

Saz thank you and I stay as safe as I possibly can until cabin fever sets in which with me is generally about 2 days, I'm the outdoorsy type. I'm glad you enjoyed the song.

Joseph, thank you. It's funny how being in just that spot can create "the" photo. Nor am I a fan of electrical lines but I've become dependent upon what they generate as has most of the world.

    Have a great day everyone!
