More Planning


Today I was back at one of my favorite stores again...


I picked out the new shingles, patio doors as well as a new front entrance and side door. The ideal scenario would be to have the work done while I'm away for 10 days, it might happen but I'm not sure yet.

  8. These are the things I really like to shop for! For some reason I would rather shop here than a clothes or shoe shop. My husband loves me for this;)
    Hope the house-fixer shows up when you are gone. Then leave him a note to come here...:)

  9. "... have the work done ..." You mean you're NOT going to stick around to help with shingling ?

    My wife and I re-shingled our first house together (we started on the back side, away from the street, so we could practice ;-) Actually it turned out pretty good. Took us 9 days because each day as soon as we got an hour into it, the rain would come down.

    Think of the fun you'll miss ! ;-)

  10. Pam I'm going with the not so ridiculously over priced doors, just the middle range ridiculously over priced doors. :-) It sure is fun shopping for these type of home improvement materials. I LOVE Home Depot, it's my favorite store.

    Si, yup I'm off to Colorado next week for 10 days and you bet the Rebel is coming with me! I hope if they start this work that the doors that they don't leave them opened! lol

    Andy turn it into an adventure not work. When I have to do something I don't like to do I find a way to make it enjoyable. Crank up the tunes and sing along... you'll be done in no time and won't even realize how you got it all done. When the heart dances the day, no matter what the chore, just slips away. Or here's one for you, you'll be that much closer to God on your rooftop, it'll a great day for having a chat! ;-)

  11. Irina, I'm looking forward to seeing photos of your art! Have tons of fun with the painting. I think that we deserve to get ourselves something we want, I know when I work hard that I often treat myself to something nice for myself. I feel I've earned it and so do you!

    Saz, I think when you own your own home the work is never done! lol

    Flora the good news is I have a Home Depot about 5 minutes from where I live! You bet we'll have to chat... when you're in the city maybe spend an afternoon sipping tea after a Home Depot excursion! Now that's a perfect afternoon... add taking a few photos while we're in Home Depot! lol

    Joseph, you bet! All that I've done thus far was only phase one, phase two I hope to have completed by the end of summer. Stay tuned for photos! :-) Phase three is most likely next years project but that one is taking some serious thought and I might call in a pro to help me make up my mind. All in good time my friend.   12. Dawn I'm the same way, give me a credit card with unlimited spending and you'd find me in a Home Depot for sure, clothes are overrated! lol If the guy shows up while I'm gone I'll definitely leave him a note... Please contact Dawn ASAP, she needs work done as well! lol

    Rick, I'll pass on this one, I don't much care for heights and even if I didn't mind getting on the roof I'd still pass on shingling. I can hear my guys now: "Mom get off that roof!" lol

    Nine days, wow! That's Murphy's Law for you, pull out the materials and it's bound to rain, but at least you got the job done.
