Work In Progress

There's always something to do out at the farm, my work (if you call it work) includes gardening, both the veggie garden and the three flower beds; I also take over the kitchen, housework and laundry when I come to visit. There's plenty of other work always on the go out here, work that I just photograph.

For example: Vehicle restoration

Definitely work in progress.

Then there's fixing the work truck when something needs turning up or fixin'.

It never ceases to amaze what this man can fix, mind you, I suppose it never ceases to amaze him how I know how to bake or cook! ;-)

The rain came down this afternoon which gave me a bit of a break from outside work...

But the homework doesn't seem to end, a real work in progress I tell ya.

Kelty has never ending work, her job is to guard the farm which is a full time job.

Another one of the vehicles waiting patiently for work to be done to it, what's a few more years when you've been waiting this long?

I am blessed, life is amazing and I have so much to be grateful for... as for me, I hope to always be work in progress. Without work I stunt myself from personal growth, and stunting is illegal last time I checked!

To make me what I ought to be.
It took Him just a week to make the moon and stars,
The sun and the Earth and Jupiter and Mars.
How loving and patient He must be.
    He's still workin' on me."

I love the pictures. For some reason, this morning they gave me a wonderful feeling of peace and tranquility.

    Have a wonderful day!

  5. Looks like a wonderful life out there on the farm... Just think...we need work...imagine life without it? Work is to adults ...what play is to children.

  6. Andy I LOVE that saying! Where did you get that from? It sounds like it could be a part of a song. Have a wonderful day my friend!

Clint, it's amazing what happens when one turns over the reigns, the road becomes much smoother. :-) God bless and be with you and your family as well.

Karen it took me a fair number of years to realize that life is what we choose to make it. Knowing I have choices opens up many doors to happiness, connectedness, contentment and an amazing life. The days are what we make them and I try to live my life one day at a time. Yesterday's gone, tomorrow will look after itself and today is such a gift... one for which I am extremely grateful. I share your enthusiasm, keep the days coming and no job is to big when we put our minds to it. Just ask the friendly looking farm dog. She might not respond until you've known her for a few years, she's kind of shy! ;-) Have an amazing day!

  7. Kathy, thank you. You also have a wonderful attitude, your disposition comes through in your word choices and I love reading your blog. The ones I've connected with here are amazing people, I feel as though I've come to know many people here and we've never met. I think that when people are walking... as is called in the Native way... the "Red Road" that souls connect, energies are shared and it's so cool how this can transpire online. The "Red Road" is living a life which is wholesome and with connectedness. Thank you and I hope you have a fantastic day!

Flora this is so true, it's how we choose to view our work that makes a difference. I love to play in the dirt, I have a passion for cooking, and writing makes my heart dance... so work? Not really. Perception is an amazing gift when we use it wisely. Enjoy your day and all that it brings your way!

  8. Very neat cool old cars!! My Hubby would love those... He amazes me too as to what he can fix and repair. They are so good at that!

Thanks for visiting my blog too. I do love my fence around my garden! I did not originally have it in my plan either and when it became a necessity I became concerned about my feelings of garden confinement. It's wonderful though. I needed to get the fence up to keep a certain new dog out. He's just not fully trained yet and after he killed all my strawberries... well... yah... fence. I'm not trapped in my garden though. I already have an expansion plan for next year! Hehe...

    Take care,
    Dee

  9. Dee this is only a few of the "fixer-uppers", there's enough work here to keep him busy for years after he retires, IF he ever retires that is! lol A new puppy and a garden, enough said! :-) The farm dog picks a spot and no matter how many times I plant there she seems to find a way to get into that spot, maybe a fence such as you have would keep her out... maybe! The expansion sounds like a ton of work but so much fun. I think that gardening is good for the soul, once I push past the fact that it's really work! :-) Have a fantastic weekend!

  10. Ah, life on the farm - doesn't get much better than that ! And is work really work when you enjoy it ? Love these shots, and the last one best - cool license plate - from the 30's (no Wild Rose Country then, I guess!). Would love to see this one when it's restored.

  11. Rick the only way this could get any better is if we could move this farm closer to the city then I could be here more often! ;-) Yesterday... well now that was work and it's almost time to head back out and finish it up. If and when this car gets restored you bet you'll all get to see it, hopefully with me in the drivers seat! ;-) Enjoy your day!

  12. What lovely photo's! Farm life sure is interesting. Although, when I was little we lived on a farm in Australia, and we were surrounded by funnel web spider nests, haha. But we used to run around bare foot and never once got bitten! Wouldn't do that now, mind! I hate spiders.

I love the dog photo! But then, I'm partial to dogs. ;) Haha, so gorgeous!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  13. Saz thank you. How long did you live in Australia for and what did you think of it? I'd LOVE to visit there one day for a month or so! I also love dogs, they're so lovable and loyal... most of them that is. :-)
