A Day With Derek

Today I went out with my son Derek for a late breakfast, it was sinfully delicious!

While we were waiting for our order to arrive Derek showed me what his new cell phone can do, it was a learning experience for both of us. It's absolutely amazing what these phones can do. We played with the different photo options, this one is in sepia.

The quality of the photo looks fantastic on the phone but once it's transferred it's another story. Just the same I love what the phones can do, I'm so impressed I want one now.  I think I'll wait for the iPhone 5 to come out, that should be soon.

As we were about to leave I spotted this car parked right next to me, I think that this is so cute, not that I'd ever add eyelashes to my headlights. I told my son that something like this is for either the really young who just don't care or the really old who can do whatever they want and get away with it just because they're old. I got out of my car and snapped a photo not realizing the lady was in her car, she was an elderly lady... point proven! :-)

I love spending quality time with my children, today was a wonderful day and I hope to make a habit out of going out with my son for breakfast at least once a month. There's no cooking nor any dishes and more time to spend just hanging out.

And that car? Very cute. But I think the way I drive...those lashes would have to come off;D

  2. What a cool sepia photo! Amazing what some of those phones can do! What an age we live in! As for the eyelashes, hmmm it might be kind of cool...but then there are probably some people who would spoil it.....so I'll stick to wearing my own eye lashes..however not in that shade! have a great rest of the long weekend...oh and did I mention, what a yummy looking breakfast plate too!

  9. the car with eye lids is taking the UK by storm too, mostly ladies or hair dressers cars though. Thank breakfast looks lush, I usually end up with burnt toast or porridge.

You look fab in sepia by the way.

  11. Dawn I LOVE the Rebel, mine's an XSi and I wouldn't trade it for anything! I hear you about the eyelashes on the headlights, mine would be batting like crazy the way I drive! lol The pancakes were so delicious I HAD to make blueberry pancakes for a really late lunch today, I had some fresh blueberries I wanted to use up so that went over well. And you bet, there's nothing like spending time with those nearest and dearest to us. It's unfortunate that the summer slipped away on us, I would have loved to come out, maybe in the spring once these crazy making courses are done. Take care and have a fantastic evening!

Karen, definitely not hot pink eyelashes, well maybe if you streaked your hair with the hot pink strands like the kids today do! lol I might get one of these types of phones, I'm not quite sure which one yet, the iPhone 5 should be out soon and if I'm going to sign a 3 year contract I want the latest... which will be obsolete in a few months. This technology... where is it going to stop? Have a wonderful evening and right, the pancakes, a definite must. I didn't even think that I liked pancakes anymore, not until I tried these! Have a wonderful week.

Wong the pancakes are so good, use real whipping cream though, not the cheap processed kind if you ever try to make them. The ones I made at home today I used buttermilk pancake mix and added fresh blueberries right into the batter and yummmm! They were so good. Have a wonderful week and keep on taking those fantastic shots! I really enjoy your photos.

Irina thank you very much. I'm going through the mid life crisis I think and it's nice to hear such a wonderful compliment! ;-) The ego is sated for the time being! lol The pink eyelashes, not for me neither, they'd clash with my red car. hehe
    Have a wonderful week!
