The University of Alberta Butterdome is a multi use space used to support various sport and recreational programs, it holds approximately 6000 people. I think it's rather obvious why the building is called the Butterdome, it's yellow like butter, or maybe they paint it yellow like butter so they don't have to change the name...yes I digress, now back to my post.
What caught my attention today is the tree which is blending in nicely with the building, it's close to the same shade of yellow.

I had just left class and was walking and talking with one of my peers, I told her I just HAD to take a photo of this shrub. I'm not too sure what this young lady made of this but if she's going to walk and talk with me she might as well get to know me and my ways, as I will hers. She's inquisitive, brilliant, and tolerant, a young lady who will go far in life in my opinion.
Yup, it was another beautiful day, a wonderful day to welcome the change of seasons.

Yesterday's photo & today's made me remember why I miss Fall so much - the leaves are beautiful. It never gets cold enough here for that - so sad!
ReplyDeleteThe change of season is nice taken with your camera!
ReplyDeleteWish you a good and restful weekend!!!
Fall is my favorite. The leaves are just barely starting to turn here in east Tennessee. The mornings and nights are cool---60ish---and the days are 70s. Life is gooood!
ReplyDeleteWow,an amazing buttered building for sure. What lovely colors coming your way alreay, love that poem to about the leaves being like flowers...beautiful! I have to laugh about your pausing to take a photo, I have a dear friend who rarely takes a photo of anything, she never had children so that's one reason....but she is always very good about my constant taking pictures....she will even say...hey don't you want a picture of this, sometimes...she knows me well! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat tree DOES blend nicely with the building! Unique color. Nice color in the shrub, too. We're seeing some color, but still mostly green.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos Darlin, it's awesome that you carry your camera everywhere. Have a great Sunday.
ReplyDeleteThere is a street with trees very close to me that turns a wonderful red that I will have to photograph very soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm so ready for fall, I can TASTE it! Nice pictures!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great building! I love the colour yellow. (: It's such a lovely colour. I can't believe fall is here again! Time certainly flies.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of your weekend. (:
Always amazed by University Campuses, it is like a small community. I am sure it is great to be back to school again !
ReplyDeleteHave a fun weekend...
Beverly I'll switch you weather for a few years, I'd love for it to never get cold enough for leaves to turn color or better yet I'd love no snow! Well until Christmas that is.
ReplyDeleteBitch thank you, a wonderful Sunday to you as well!
Clint 60ish? Wow, it's beautiful there! Yup life is good on this end as well, today it was about 26c which was amazingly nice for this time of year. The nights are dipping down now and it's starting to get pretty cool. A few nights I've crawled under the quilt and thrown an extra blanket on. Thankfully it's not time for the electric blanket yet. What's the weather like there in the winter time?
ReplyDeleteKaren that's one heck of a good friend you have there, we all need at least one good friend like that!
Brian you're blessed to be seeing mostly green still, we're seeing more color than green but it's all good 'til it turns white. :-)
Horst thank you. I've learned my lesson, the minute I leave without a camera tucked away somewhere or my camera bag with me, that's when I see the PERFECT shot... it never fails! lol I'm looking forward to seeing your red tree, I'll try to get to check on posts a bit more often but I have the funny feeling it's going to be the other way, classes are in full swing now and that means way to much reading and the essays and mid terms will be here in no time at all... one more year, I can do this!
David thank you, is it still summer where you are? I wish our summers lasted more than a few short months but it's just not happening, even with global warming.
ReplyDeleteSaz thank you and I feel the same way about fall, it just came out of nowhere and in a heartbeat it seems. Such is life.
Wong, actually I'm getting so tired of being in school hitting the books, staying up all hours of the night and no 'regular' schedule. This is my 5th year of doing this but my last year for a while. I'm going to take one year off studies, get a job, then pursue the Masters part time and hold down a full time job. I need a break, my brain is on overload.
Wishing you all a fantastic Sunday! Cheers.
Just stunning. I love Autumn and the colors. How can one not be happy with warm colors around.
ReplyDeleteYour sure captured them .
Your beautiful autumn photos inspired me to post autumn colors in Moscow tomorrow. Thank you for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteHi Darlene! I see you are also in a beautiful autumn mood. Leaves whirling in the wind... very nice pictures!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Thank you for funny comment in my blog. Makes me laugh today. :-)
LOVE the Camus quote! I don't think that I've heard it before.
ReplyDeleteLisa, it is such a beautiful time of year. Tonight it's cooling down, there's a slight breeze drifting in through the windows as I read and make notes. The fresh air smells are wafting through the house with the hint of a roast I cooked in the slow cooker today. It's so relaxing, I would love to sit on the patio and embrace this splendid evening but it's too dark to read out there now! Enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteLuize I'm happy you were laughing. Thank you for the nice compliment on my photos. It's good to see you back here, don't be a stranger now k? Enjoy your week!
Kathy I'd never seen this quote before neither, it's fitting for this colorful time of year. I hope you have a great week!
Irina you're welcome! :-) I look forward to seeing Moscow in the Autumn.
