'Tis the season...
We had our first snowfall, I'm grateful that it was late in coming this year as I don't like driving in the snow nor do I like being cold. One would think that I'd be accustomed to this type of weather living in Alberta all my life, I'm not. The older I get the more I detest being cold.
As you can see we didn't get a lot of snow, but it's snow nonetheless. Tomorrow it's supposed to be +1, this should all melt so I won't take out the snow shovel quite yet... I don't want to jinx us! lol

As a teacher, I am already looking forward to the first snowfall.
ReplyDeleteYes, please don't do any jinxing, because I wouldn't want any of that white stuff coming down here from your lovely Canada! We should still be lucky today, they say 50 degrees weather! So no things like snow or frost here today, but hey that can change here ...we've gone from 70 degrees to I won't say what here, for fear of jinxing but it's what we both don't like about you know what kind of weather. I'm a believer of if you say you're happy, you will be, so I'm saying we're going be hanging on to autumn a whole lot longer!
ReplyDeleteWow, it looks so gorgeous! I hate snow, but I love the amazing shots you can get in the snow. So beautiful. (:
ReplyDeletePam it must be so much fun to work with young eager minds, a job I wanted when I was younger and today one which I have the utmost respect for. I can only imagine the fun a whole school yard full of children has with the first snowfall. When do you generally get this white stuff on the ground?
ReplyDeleteKaren I won't, I don't want this to stay! lol I laugh because we're generally buried by now, thankfully the white stuff held off as long as it did. I hope for you that you have your autumn far longer than we have it here, winters here seem so long. The first snowfall is generally by the end of October and it doesn't usually leave until the later part of April, no wonder is seems so long, that's half our year. I just might not come back from Australia! lol
Saz do you get snow there? I'll try to keep an eye on your posts, soon enough this darn essay writing will be done with. I've spent 3 days working on one paper and I still need at least another full day to get it done... then I start another major one which I'm hoping goes much quicker than this one. I think that there's 3, maybe 4 major papers to write after these two are out of the way. I'll be all out of words by the time this is all done!
Enjoy your day ladies, back to writing for me. (Heavy sigh).
Saz, why do you hate snow, it is nice :-) well on the woods. at least.
ReplyDeletehi darlin, first time following. I saw your blog from saz's.
Cheers.
Haha, no snow around here yet! But it is pretty cold. Apparently we are to expect snow though! We've had snow the last 2 or 3 years..
ReplyDeleteDer ~ I don't like snow because it's cold! Haha. :P I love photographing it though!
I love to look at snow and I love to visit ski resorts. In Texas it doesn't snow that much so I can still appreciate it!
ReplyDeleteStay warm, my friend!!
snow in Ankara on Tuesday :))
ReplyDeleteI liked living in Arizona...when it snowed in the valley it didn't last long...but you could still see beautiful white stuff at about 5000' or lower on the mountains! Love your snow photos!
ReplyDeleteHang on it was only last month you cleared the snow from last year ;-} ? I want your snow please, I like snow lots.
ReplyDeleteSi
Maybe we should start a fund to build a big reflector in space that can bounce some of the Florida sunshine up to Canada in the winter - maybe reduce winter to Dec. 21 to Mar. 21 (like it's marked on our calendars !!).
ReplyDeleteAh well, memories of last year's 10 foot high piles are only in photos now anyway. Welcome to the new season !
Good luck with the essays, Darlene. Australia's not far in the future - will be here before you know it. Have a great week !
Hi Der, welcome to my world, a place where I'm never quite sure what's going to happen next! lol I'll check your blog out as well. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteSaz, lucky you, I know you don't get snow like we have here. We had at least 4' (yes feet) of snow in the yard last year! I shoveled til I couldn't shovel anymore, it was crazy making! Have a wonderful week, mine is going to be nuts busy but I'll be over to visit when I can. Cheers!
Linda you are blessed to not get much snow. I loved snow when I was young, I wasn't old enough to be driving and my blood was a lot thicker I think... I'm just getting tired of it, I need the change and come January I will have the change I'm in search of! Yup, I'm on a countdown pretty quick here. Have a great week!
Ebru do you get much snow? I hope you enjoy your week!
Theanne snow is beautiful from a distance, when I don't have to shovel it nor drive in it! lol Where are you living now? I noticed you used the past tense talking about Arizona. Have a great week!
Rick, Rick, Rick... I LOVE your thoughts! You're always thinking, now if only we could make your thought become a reality I'd be one happy camper! As you're well aware those of us in Western Canada never look at the calendar to let us know when the season changes, we just look out the door and decide what to wear on an hourly basis. They invented the 3 in 1 jacket just for us I'm sure.
Yes the new season is upon us, bring it on... ummm wait a second, what am I saying? GULP! I'd have to shovel, or wait no I don't, my son is here as well as my niece. They can hold down the fort and do the shoveling, I'm far to busy, yup that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
As for these darn essays, thank you I need all the luck I can find. I'm thinking that I have educational burnout and I'm stuck on one essay for the past 3 or 4 days, there's movement but not fast enough. I can foresee a few super late nights and early mornings coming up with all these papers coming due. My goodness, this is just as challenging doing all these courses as I thought it would be AND I added in the trip to Australia which was totally unexpected so it's back to Calgary on Friday. But such is life, I want this degree and I'm going to get it period. Yup, Australia ready or not, here I come in two short months! Woohoo! :-) Have a wonderful week Rick.
It began... :)
ReplyDeletehere I am always loughing that we have first snow on my sister's birthday which is 20th of November, so I am begining to prepare myself:)
I loved it a lot better than I always shot. :D
ReplyDeleteHave nice weekend Darlin!!
Ola unfortunately it's here and not going anywhere for quite some time now. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteEbru thank you, I hope you had a wonderful weekend as well. :-)
