My granddaughter is fascinated with my camera, I know she's a bit young but what the heck, I'm getting her started with her own camera this Christmas. I can spend time with her taking photos then I'll upload them to my computer for her to take a look at. I want to give this to her now to see what she thinks of it... but I'll wait.
It amazes me the things they have for children these days, a far cry from the one doll I remember having as a youngster. For Christmas I generally got clothes, I always loved the new dresses I'd get; heck, I'd still love to get clothes, now I know where I get it from! Childhood memories.

The first digital camera I had was a Barbie camera for girls...I was in my late 50s, early 60s and couldn't afford a more expensive digital. It was fun and took a fairly decent photo. I know your granddaughter will enjoy hers, and you'll both have fun looking at her photos!
ReplyDeleteTheanne that's awesome you learned on one similar to this, good for you! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteIts crazy....home 'advanced' kids toys are !...and Yes we have had a pot luck in the Wreck room!! We don't have a doll house at our park...so we can escape alot easier than some:)
ReplyDeleteKids will want a new camera, so let them have one. They either get bored, or really get into it. Soon they'll be getting a blog.
ReplyDeleteFlora that's hilarious! I loved that writing, it sure had me laughing! I hope you're having the time of your life, which I'm sure you are! No winter, yahoooo!
ReplyDeleteBob I'm looking forward to the day my granddaughter will be able to start up a blog, no huge rush though. It could be a wee bit of time though, she's only 18 months old. I say she might as well start learning her way around a camera now, this way by the time she's old enough if she shows an interest then her "Grammy" can get her a really good DSLR. I love being a grandmother, now I get why people get the way they do when they become grandparents, I just used to think ya, ya so it's a baby, so what? Boy was I ever wrong! That goes to show that I don't understand what others experiences are, not until I've walked a mile in their moccasins, then and only then can I say that I relate.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Darlin, you never know, she may be the next Karsh.
ReplyDeleteWish you a nice Sunday!
ReplyDeleteDarlin, I think that is a good start ...
ReplyDeleteA digital camera for a little one is much better than the old film cameras would have been...at least the bad pictures can be deleted :-)
ReplyDeleteHorst you should see her finger paintings, I'm thinking the next Picasso! lol
ReplyDeleteErika thank you and a wonderful Sunday to you as well!
Wong who knows what she'll do by the time she's in her teens if she takes to the camera. As long as there's an interest as she grows I'll keep upgrading her cameras. We can go out for afternoons taking photos, or travel together when she's older... we can do all that even if she's on the other end of the camera mind you. Either way I'm sure she's going to have some fun.
Kathy you bet, I remember waiting sometimes up to two, if not three, weeks to get my photos back when I was young, only to have half of them black! lol
Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!
A great present for your grand daughter. It won't be long before she is immersed in photographic technology and then teaching you.
ReplyDeleteDiane I wouldn't doubt that one bit, it was my children who taught me how to use a computer and a few other new gadgets, wait until I get my iPhone, they'll all run when they see me coming! lol
ReplyDeleteIt's never too early to show her something she just may treasure her whole life with! Especially when she already has an idea....of it!
ReplyDeleteHi Darlene just found this via adventure before dementia blog and decided to follow as I have a son called Shayne and I'm curious if you do too or is it your d-i-l? Also have 2 adorable granddaughters you can see them on my blog, as last entry is the Christening of Livia. Nice to meet you! Catherine
ReplyDeleteCatherine I do have a son named Shayne (my oldest child), his wife is Sandy and the adorable wee one in these photos is their daughter, my granddaughter.
ReplyDeleteI also have a sister named Cathy, and I chose my sisters name for my daughters middle name, Catherine! Wow, that's a lot of coincidences. I'll venture over to take a peek at your blog and see your granddaughter. Thank you for stopping in and it is a real pleasure to meet you.
