Stamped

I went to take a look at the book my friend gave me about Adelaide and lo and behold 3 stamps fell out of the book. I was curious how much it is to mail a letter in Australia as I noticed these stamps are for $1.45, on closer inspection along the side it says International Post. Thank goodness for email and Skype!

Another interesting thing I learned today, my great grandmother had a sister named Adelaide...now is it a coincidence that this is the city I'll be spending 5 months in or is it fate? BTW I don't believe in a coincidence. ;-)

  5. I believe things happen for a reason and as a result of things we have no control over. I make my journey through life with my eyes wind open and a smile on my face.

It is good news to hear you have relatives in aussie land, a bonus for an already exciting trip.

  9. It's so funny the money exchange! I remember when I first went to Germany and being a bit too young to really understand it all...twenty American dollars was like 88 Marks or something quite large like that...and it seemed like I was really rich going by the German Marks! You will just have a wonderful time while you're there...you lucky girl you!!!!

  11. Take it as a good omen - it's meant to be ! Whenever we travel we send our kids a postcard, but we also send one to our dog - that way we have a postcard too from wherever we travelled. I'm sure Abbie will be looking forward to getting hers now that you have stamps ;-)

  12. Wong that's awesome! Do you go and visit Sydney in Sydney or does he live there as well? That'd be pretty cool!

Magda thank you! Wishing you a wonderful day!

Beverly I'm almost ready to start counting days! I just need to get my ticket and I'll put a counter on here if I can figure that out! lol

Dawn I'll get some photos just for you, cause you're that special! :-)

Si I don't have relatives in Australia, I had a great, great aunt that had the name Adelaide, that's where I'm going in Australia. Hmmm, I'd best go back and see how I worded this post, I post very late at night sometimes when I'm half asleep! lol

Ola I love them, it makes me want to take up stamp collecting again. I used to collect stamps in my youth, I don't know what ever became of my collection but I just might have to start it up again. Hmmm come to think of it I'm pretty sure I brought some stamps home from Colorado... now where did I put them? Sheesh! lol

Flora and they say this getting older stuff is boring... NOT! The older I'm getting the more fun I'm having! lol

    Thank you Theanne!

Saz I'll have to get your mailing address while I'm there, email it to me k? I'll send you a note in the mail and find the cutest stamp I can! :-)

Karen that'd be hilarious, I won't have that problem in Australia, or I don't think I will. Their dollar is worth more than ours is so when I do any type of a money exchange or purchase anything I'm going to have to remember to convert it over and not overspend... who am I kidding? lol

LSP, hi there... good to see you again! I believe it is Providence, that's a good word. :-)

Rick, what an awesome idea to send my dog a postcard, she'll even be here to see it. I'll tell my son he has to read them to her and see how that goes over. Awww my poor puppy is going to miss me, for about 5 minutes probably. She's getting used to my son and knows my niece so I'm sure they'll all get along fine... it's me who will miss her! The good thing about going away for some time is coming back and realizing just how blessed I am to have the people in my life I do. I think that when we stay in touch regularly sometimes we, or I, tend to take others for granted even when I try not to. Absence makes the heart grow fonder they say.

I hope you all have a wonderful day, I have to get to bed so no post tonight but thanks to each one of you for stopping in, you all made my night that much more enjoyable! Cheers my blogger friends.
