Another Phenomenal Day in Brisbane

Today was a day out on the town, or should I say river?

First we, Beverly, her daughter Elizabeth and myself, boarded a train destined for the downtown core of Brisbane.

(Beverly on the left, myself on the right)

When we arrived downtown we went for lunch, I must say they serve the strangest clientele...

After lunch we got on a River Cat and traveled down the Brisbane River; it was odd but after 4 months in Australia this is the most touristy I've felt yet.

(This is myself on the left and beautiful Elizabeth on the right and a total stranger in the background!)

And this, well this is the closest I've ever been to a ship, it looks amazing, but I'm not too sure I'd enjoy a cruise... mind you I won't knock it until I've tried it. I guess this is yet another thing to add to that ever growing bucket list... yup, that's what I'm going to do.

It's been yet another phenomenal day; great friends, wonderful adventures and now I'm wiped. Good night world and for those who are just starting their day, have a fantastic day!

Cheers from Brisbane.

    1. Monika, the River Cat is a small boat, this ship in the photo is a cruise ship, something I may try one day.

  4. That bird eating at the dishes is awesome....is it a regular sight? (the bird I mean, not necesarily eating restaurant food)

    1. Joyce this breed of birds are common here, they do this all the time and it irritates the restaurant owners, but it amused me! lol

  5. What a fun day you had! But what's with the coats? I thought all Australia was hot?

    1. Red it's almost winter now here, Adelaide is colder than Brisbane and the coats yesterday were on and off, when we were out on the water it was chilly, but after when we were out shopping the sun was shining and it was nice. It doesn't snow here, but it can get cool.

  6. Hi there - if you get the chance you should go to the Botanic Gardens in Brisbane - they have a great population of Water Dragons around the water features. Splendid beasts.

PS: it may not snow in Brisbane – but it does elsewhere! Snow season open in about a month.

  8. Ah! You are fortunate Darleen to be spending a few days in sunny Brisbane .... my new camera is a Canon.EOS 600D ... which I love but it's taking me a while to learn how to use all the different functions.
I agree every day is an adventure to be enjoyed.
