Autumn

Here in Adelaide it's Autumn for less then two weeks, on June 1st winter officially sets in. Some of the trees have their leaves changing color and falling softly to the ground, it's beautiful.

The orange trees are bearing fruit...

... wait a second, something is so totally wrong with this picture! First of all it's May 19th and Autumn (it's Spring back home) and trees bearing fruit this close to winter; hmmm is it any wonder I'd love to live here?

  2. The opposite seasons must be a bit of a challenge, but one that's awesome to experience.

    1. Red I'll miss the winter season here, it's now cooler and a jacket is required but there's no snow, nor does Adelaide ever get snow which is shocking. It's going to be really different to come home to Spring/Summer straight from Autumn, but trust me, it's not a complaint by no means.

  3. It's awesome to see Orange trees bearing fruit. Must be nice to just go out and pick an Orange when ever you want.

    1. Horst I wonder if the novelty of doing so would ever wear off or if it would always be astounding to us who have never lived with such a luxury.

  4. I think from what I've heard winter there is like a rainy day in the middle of spring in Oregon! Or very close to it....their winter is nothing like the winter you and I know!

    1. Karen the weather is so different than we get, my dream would to be to travel here for Jan, Feb and most of March and miss out on three of our worst months back home... now to sort out how to make this dream become my reality!

      Have a wonderful week!

  5. Hi there - nice shot of the fallen leaves - sometimes we can try to pack too much into a picture. You have less leaves, but it’s still clear what season it is.

  6. Hello Stewart, sometimes less is more I find. There's other places with a lot more leaves on the ground. This particular moment in time captured my attention... maybe because this is the street where I generally walk to catch the bus and was quite empty, there was the feeling of Autumn in the air and it was one of those ahhhh moments in time.

    Have a great week!
