Port Adelaide Revisited

I'd decided that I wanted to go back to Port Adelaide and celebrate my birthday this way... so that we did. The Captain was a friendly chap, very knowledgeable about his vessel and the history of the area

We traveled through the port and there were some amazing sights to see...

Boats of all types were docked in the port

A photo of me to be able to look back and see how I looked in my final year of my 40s, it just dawned on me that I only have this year to say I'm 40 something...hmmm now what am I going to think up over this next year to say when someone asks me how old I am? I could always say a true lady never reveals her age... ya, that works!

And this final photo is about the best I could get of the dolphins, we spotted a fair amount of them but they weren't coming out to play... can't say I blame them one wee bit, it was chilly!

It's been a fantastic birthday, one I will remember for many, many years to come!

  1. You are beutiful and the photo a perfect reminder of your time in Australia in your 40's. The good news is that if you wait one year you can say - "Oh I was in my forties, when I was last there."

  3. Well of course a true lady never does! She needs to keep a bit a mystery about her. The happiest of birthday wishes to you, and a fine place for celebrating it. The Captain, "Oh my Captain" he sure does top of the day, and journey as well! Also, as a true lady sipping her glass of wine would say,(and quite possibly while on a boat! Ha! Ha!) "We're not getting older, we're just getting better!"

    1. Karen thank you and I'll remember to keep a bit of mystery about myself, or I'll try to remember to do just that. The boat ride was a magnificent way to celebrate my b'day, I thoroughly enjoyed it and even though I didn't capture a dolphin jumping or anything like that, I captured enough of the dolphin to put a smile on my face!

I am going to keep my Koala as my header for quite some time, it's my bold, but soft, statement of Australia! :-) Have a g'day, cheers.

  4. I hope you keep this header photo for a bit, or be sure to bring him/her back....he's just so adorable! I think I know a little grand-delight (who misses You) would probably really enjoy him too!

    1. Thank you Red. I couldn't agree more that a person is only as old as they feel, and I hope I feel this way for many, many years to come! Cheers, have a wonderful week!

  8. As I was reading through your recent posts I came to this one and realized I'd missed your birthday - so, a belated Happy Birthday ! (we celebrated our son's yesterday - that would be May 27).

Not to worry about the 40's slipping by: in the future you can still claim to be in your 40's with '_' years of experience (fill in the blank) ;-)

Looks like you had an awesome one !

    1. Thank you Rick and that's right, I'll be 40 something with some experience after next year! That totally works, well unless I take Irina's advice and tell a bit of a white lie. (the comment below this one and if you haven't met Irina yet, Rick allow me to introduce Irina from Moscow and Irina this is Rick who is from Canada and part time from Florida).

And a Happy Belated b'day to your son!

I did have an amazing time thank you, my life has been such an adventure, I never know where I'm going to be led next but it's sure interesting!

Take care and wishing you a wonderful, sun filled week!

  9. You can be "in your 40's" for next 20 years, you look very good. And woman's age kind of lie never counted as lie, I know!
