Ducks

What a blessing today has been, I was up with the birds and headed over to spend the day and night with Elyssa. We watched some of her shows, played for a while and she decided to take a bit of a break.

This afternoon we decided to head out for a walk, we were in search of ducks. Elyssa loves ducks!

After walking for a while Elyssa stopped to sit...

We continued on our quest, then rocks became her primary interest. First is was picking up rocks, then it was sitting on the large rocks (I didn't mind one bit, this made for an amazing photo opportunity!)

... and because I was away for such a lengthy period of time, and I'm having such a hard time deciding which one to post, I'm going to post one more of Elyssa, my precious adorable granddaughter who means the world to me.

Oh right... eventually we found the ducks we were in search of. There's a mother and 8 ducklings in the man made lake not far from here. Elyssa was in duck heaven.

Tonight at bedtime without thinking I told Elyssa it was time to crawl into bed, so crawl on our hands and knees we did all the way down the hall right to her bed!
Grandchildren are definitely a gift, a wonderful precious gift.

  3. A world without ducks would be a very poor place indeed! Have you read "Jemima Puddleduck " or " The story about Ping" to your duck loving friend - both splendid books.

PS: I have tried to pull together my thoughts about leaving and arriving new places in the last two posts of my "other blog" - you may find them interesting.

    1. Stewart I'll have to see if Elyssa has these books, if not I'll see if I can order them online. Thank you.

I'll also check out your other blog when time permits, right now my little Chickadee is having her breakfast and I'm sitting with her at the table. What a blessing to have time with her!

      Have a wonderful evening.

    1. Shayne it's such a pleasure to spend time with Elyssa; she's such a precious, intelligent and fun(ny) little girl. You and Sandy are the most amazing parents and it shines through Elyssa's behaviors.

We did have a lot of fun, now you get to see the photos she told you I was taking. :-)

  9. What a little darling....(no pun intended!) I can see a bit of devil in her eyes though!. Your header picture could have been taken this minute right out my window, minus the koala of course. Seems everyone is changing headers lately, something in the air I guess.

    1. Thank you Joyce, I thought it was high time to revamp, a change is as good as a rest I've heard. I also have a bit more time to play around on my computer, I don't have to procrastinate nearly as much, but still a wee bit. I have 2 courses I have to quit talking about and get done! lol

      Have a wonderful week, cheers.

  10. Sounds like Grandma had lots of fun.
Little kids are such direct thinkers that crawl into bed just means that...crawl.
