Everything to God in Prayer

There's a hymn I thought of just now when I sat down to post, "What a Friend we have in Jesus," it goes like this:

What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.

Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.

Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear
May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright unclouded there will be no need for prayer
Rapture, praise and endless worship will be our sweet portion there.

(all photos I shot out at Beaumont, Alberta while I was there today, I had my grad photos done and I'm looking forward to seeing how they turn out!)

  2. Which ever religious belief/ves a person might have or religious path a person might have chosen to take, religion and religious places must be there to give people hope, calmness and relief . . .

Nice text and pics, Darlene :-)

    1. Thank you Joseph and I agree. I like to believe I lead a spiritual life, not a religious one. I try not to impose my beliefs on anyone, but this was too close to my heart not to share!

      Cheers.

    1. Thank you Beverly, I might have to take a photo of my grad photo to be able to post it here, but where there's a will there's a way!

    1. Dianne I also remember this song from my youth, I'm so glad my Mother used to make us go to church now, but back then I wasn't too keen on it.

Thank you, this education has been a journey and as to weather or not I'll further my studies at the Master's level has yet to be decided. One thing at a time. I only have to finish up these final two courses I'm working on and this stage is complete. I was going to do them while I was in Australia, but I was in Australia! :-)

      Enjoy your Sunday!

    1. Thank you Irina, I figured I'd get with the times. I couldn't help but notice all of the new designs while I was checking out friends blogs and I played until I found something I like. I can also post my photos larger now, the old layout only allowed smaller pictures.

      Enjoy the weekend, cheers.

    1. Thank you Erika, the last time I tried to change my blog I ended up changing it back. It was like changing my name to my proper name Darlene, I had too many people used to calling me darlin, so darlin it is! lol

Wishing you a blessed and wonderful Sunday as well!
