First Day of Summer Sunset

The first day of summer this year was beautiful! The weather was perfect and my only complaint is the day passed all too quickly. Here's a few sunset shots I captured on our first day of summer.

The first one the sun was starting to slowly go down, it was taken at about 10:15pm.

This next one was at about 10:30 - 10:45p.m.; I shot a lot of photos so I can't pinpoint the exact time.

Thank you Scott for inspiring Sunset Sunday, a great reminder for me to get out and appreciate our beautiful sunsets and nice long days.

  1. Darlin, these are most lovely, and I so appreciate them, as we haven't had very many this pretty lately!

  2. Nice job. That sun stays up pretty late up there. Our sunsets are at about 9:20 here now. If you stay up for blue hour you'll really be up late.

    1. Scott if I stayed up lately for blue hour I'd be cooking breakfast! We make up for these long days in the winter time when sometimes we only get about 8 hours of light, it could be a bit more but it sure seems like only 8 hours.

    1. Thank you Rick, I am enjoying my late evenings but unfortunately it's on the computer and not outdoors. It's homework time and time to get it done.

The colors, we know who to thank for those! :-)

Have a wonderful week my friend, cheers.

  5. Really like the rich orange in the second shot. It was a very beautiful day.
Days don't go by quickly until you're retired.

    1. Theanne I'm not going to think of it as the days will be getting shorter, I'm just going to enjoy each beautiful moment in time, well as much as I possibly can. My glass is half full! :-)

      Have a wonderful week, cheers.

  7. "To welcome the summer, whose first day is ending" is a line from a rather wonderful song called “Wozzy with Cider”.
We have just past through the longest day of winter – so in my case its “to welcome the spring, whose first day is distant”!
