Helping Hands

It's time to stain the patio this year so I recruited a helper; my niece helped me and she sure did an awesome job.

Too bad she didn't listen and apply sunscreen, her back is so red and now I feel bad for her.  I'll do the second coat tomorrow, then the stairs and railing and my patio will be in fine shape. It's so true what they say, once you have a house the work never seems to end!

  1. Great looking patio you have there! I would imagine you use it a lot this time of year.
Good help is hard to come by!! You scored big with your niece!

    1. Linda it took some doing, as well as a few dollars, but she sure was a huge help! lol I hope to spend plenty of time out on my patio this summer, it depends on how quickly I can get this work done on my courses... which I've been procrastinating on for far too long but now it's crunch time so it's time to buckle down and keep pushing through these.

I LOVE the photos of the quads, they're sure growing and looking so healthy! What a blessing, a true blessing.

I hope you're having a wonderful weekend and getting some rest in yourself, it's going to be hectic when the quads come home. How long are you planning on staying to help out with your precious grandchildren?

  2. You're doing the right thing by keeping things up. Now don't forget to use the patio and sit out there.

    1. Red it's laborious keeping up and it's so true what I've heard, once you buy a house the work never ends! You bet I'm going to find the time to enjoy my patio this year, even if it's finishing the railing and the occasional BBQ with friends, there will be time spent outside... final answer! lol

I hope you're out there enjoying our beautiful weather. I had to come in for a while, the second coat is going on but I was melting! In another hour or so the second coat will be done than it's time to hit the books once again.

      Cheers.

  3. Aw. I was just like your niece the first time I learned my dad’s going to stain our deck. I guess I got a bit too excited for the experience. ;P Anyway, I’m sure your niece knows that her complexion would be back after some time. Though seeing your deck might always remind her of what happened. ;D

  4. Too bad she didn’t put sunscreen. Poor thing. Anyway, I bet the deck looks great. Are there any updates? I’m building a deck, too, right now, and I’m curious to see how your finished work looks like. Thanks for sharing this by the way. :D

  5. That’s really great! You must’ve been really thankful to have a niece who was so willing to help you do some patio staining. ;) Judging by the picture, she did a pretty great job! I’m sure she was delighted to see the outcome of all your combined efforts on the patio.
