In Training

Yesterday Herb went to an auction, he came home and put some keys on the counter. I asked him what he bought this time, he said "It could be a Harley."  My response was "No way!"  He laughed and said no, but they could have been for a Harley ... totally not funny! (As I laugh).  He told me that he bought me a 'training' bike, I asked what it was.

1968 180cc Yamaha... and it runs!

Yup, this is going to be an interesting bike to learn on, this summer I'm in training for my Harley. :-)

    1. Red it's in awesome condition, the only thing which needs replacing is the taillight cover. The bike fell over in the truck coming home... oops!

  4. Darlin, don't ride this on the road until you get a license for the bike and for you. You have to take a test specially for the motorcycle. You probably know this but I thought I would just remind you. I rode motorcycles for years and loved it. Have fun. If you know how to ride a bicycle you'll get the hang of the motorbike real fast.

    1. Horst I won't ride on the road for quite some time, the fields are softer to land in! lol I'm going to take a course, I just have to find them online and book it in. That's awesome you used to ride, this bike is going to be a blast!

Have a wonderful day...thank you for your following comment, I quite like it too!

  5. Have fun learning - don't kill yourself - we need a photo of you.

P.S Remember to wear a helmet - you need to protect that head!

    1. Beverly there's a few things I'm going to have to do, last night I was on the bike, fired it up and changed my mind. I thought better to be prepared for almost anything than to just get on it and possibly hurt myself. I've come too far to get stupid right about now, or so I like to think! lol

      Have a wonderful week.

  8. Like the commercial says - "Vroom, vroom, vroom" ! Look out Edmontonians - here comes Darlene ;>) Nice bike.

That collection of 'aged vehicles' ('previously-enjoyed' sounds so much kinder) is awesome. I'll bet Herb doesn't have many dull moments with a to-do list like that !

Like your summer-time friends - very photogenic too. And your 9:50pm shot reminds me of our first summer in Calgary - we couldn't get over how long the sun stays up (and that's even 3 hours south of Edmonton !). I recall working out in the garden till 11:00 pm.

Will look for your sunset shot.

Hope you had a great Sunday.

    1. Rick it was a fantastic Sunday thank you, well less the photos I shot which I'll share tomorrow. I'm going to cheat a tad bit because I'm back in the city now and have some homework to focus on.

I love this bike, my feet can even touch the ground once I put the kickstand up, now that's a bonus! I'm a wee bit vertically challenged, but this has never stopped me before. :-)

It's the most amazing time of the year, it's 10:23 and even with dark clouds hovering above us it's still light out.

      Have a wonderful week! Cheers.

    1. Max the only thing that needs replacing is the taillight cover and I've found one in the U.S., hopefully it'll be here soon! Thanks, I'm sure this is going to be a blast, it's just too bad we don't get much summer but I'll still make the most of it when the weather's good!

      Have a wonderful weekend, cheers.

  13. Well, I think it is not bad for a training bike! Once you get the hang of it, you can purchase yourself a Harley and go on for a road trip! And I think it is a good idea to include this on your list. Riding a cycle would surely give you an incredible road experience. And I won't be surprised if you make this one a habit!
