Two Seasons

It seems we have two seasons here in Alberta, there's winter and there's construction season.

I was driving down Jasper Avenue today, that's the main road in the downtown core in Edmonton, and they have it down to two lanes. I'm sure glad I missed rush hour, I can't even imagine how congested it would be on Jasper Ave. with only two lanes.

However it was a beautiful day here today, we had sunshine and warm temperatures.

...yup, it's good to be home! (Even though I'm already looking at deals for my next adventure. Maybe I should just leave that suitcase packed and ready to go because with me I never know from one day to the next where I might, or might not, end up!)

  1. I thought that you had fled the country!
It was great to bounce comments back and forth when you here - let’s keep it going!

You may be interested to read the post on my "other blog" that will come out in a few days - it’s all about my reaction to migration; it may be topical in some ways for you.

    1. Stewart I have and am having troubles reverting to Canadian time. I was hoping by now, a week later, to be back on track but it's tougher coming home than it was going there. All in good time, no rush.

I will check out your other blog, right now I'm so busy trying to get reorganized around here, today it was lawn work, planting, shopping and all that fun stuff.

      I hope you're having a wonderful Saturday!

  2. Your city sounds (and looks) much like ours. Although our road construction began really early this year as winter seemed to be out of town! Are you excited to be back? Or are you missing much of your mystical trip?

    1. Karen I'm not too sure how long they've been doing construction here for but I can say I sure didn't miss this part of living here one bit. I'm so happy to be back, still a week later I'm trying to get back on my Canadian time and I'm having difficulty doing so. There's lots to be done and slowly but surly it's getting there... one thing at a time. I'm too tired lately to be missing my trip, probably when the first snow flies I'll really miss Australia.

Have an awesome weekend... oh I meant to ask you, which city are you in?

  4. Yes, don't put the suitcase away. Adventures keep you going. Think of the alternative if you stopped?

    1. Thank you Joyce, you're son isn't too far from here at all. How does he like it here? I don't know what I was doing or if we just didn't get the same winds that your son spoke of, we might have and I just didn't notice it. I'm still jet lagged and trying to get things back in order here, slowly but it's getting there. There's no huge rush, and no worries! :-)

  7. Moscow, Russia maybe?
You asked me about my sketch of this window:http://moscowdailyshot.blogspot.com/2012/06/cafe-window.html
Here it is, I do not feel confident enough to put it into Moscow blog for wide observation))http://irinapictures.blogspot.com/2011/05/last-day-of-world-again.html

    1. Thank you for the link Irina, you do amazing sketches! Is it the same in Moscow, they work on the roads all spring and summer long and into the fall? It's nice when the roads are fixed but such a pain when I get stuck on a road where I don't know there's construction going on. I'm going to have to put some music on my iPod and take it with me in the car, at least I have some good music to pass the time away. Have a wonderful weekend!
