Family Picnic in the Park

We had our 2nd annual family picnic in the park and what an

awesome way to spend a Saturday. I love when the family comes

together, tons of love and laughter is shared... what more could

a girl ask for?

I was setting up the camera for the family photo shoot, testing

the new remote a very dear friend gave to me for my birthday...

it works fantastic! 

I went out for a walk with Elyssa, more of a jog, to see

where all of the geese where headed. There were tons of 

them, then we had to walk back to get my camera, 

she wanted photos of the baby geese. 

It was another blessed and beautiful day. 

Too Cool

First off I'd like to share that I didn't shoot this photo

of my cousin, his sister did and I did edits to it. My cousin

in the photo actually hitches up the horses to his old plow

and that's how he hays.  I think this is so awesome, time consuming,

but awesome! 

Briefly Out Of Hiatus

This is rather uncanny, I take a break from my blog, come back and a bunch

of my photos are missing. Weird or what?  Hmmm I'll make time to repost them 

in the near future. 

Well what's new in my world?  I'm close to being done my practicum, only

2 more weeks to go and that part of this educational journey is finished, all

525 hours!  I'll be able to take a break for August, then back at the books

come September for my final year of studies.  This almost sounds too good

to be true! 

I've missed my blog, missed all of you and I'm looking

forward to catching up to those I've come to know

hopefully in August. Yup, I've got plans and some

of them include getting out of the city and I'm not

sure if there's even internet where I'm headed. I've 

still been shooting photos.  Some I'll share here and

hopefully they too won't disappear! 

Today I did a photo shoot for an old friend, 

she lives in the next province and her grandson

lives here. This wee guy is so adorable!

I sure had fun doing this photo shoot, it was a hot one today and 

I love this stunning weather we've been having. 

Well as I'm sure you're all aware, tonight is the Super 

Moon and what a beautiful moon it is...

And anyone who has been following my blog in the

past, well ya all know I LOVE my flowers and the

few months of color we get in this part of 

the world. 

So there you have it, still busy on this end, but

it's a good kind of busy and (sigh) yes I've been 

staying out of trouble! ;-)  I hope you're all

Busy, Busy, Busy

I'm busy but not so busy that I can't take a couple of minutes to 
stop in and say hello. Now to remember what I've blogged about,
 I should have looked back... such is life.  

So practicum is intense, I hit the ground running, 
as I thought I would. This placement is a steep learning
 curve and I love it!  But I didn't come here to talk about work,
 I came to say hello and share a photo, or two.  

I'm working full time, overtime hours and when I'm not at 
work I'm as busy as I want to be, some days are productive, 
others aren't quite as productive, the nature of the game. 
This year I was going to plant a few shrubs in my back yard, 
I'm tired of the dandelions, but this idea grew a wee bit...

I now have a wee mini garden. 

Today I stained the side door steps, finished 

planting and had a nice relaxing day. I needed

a down day, working in Mental Health

I see the importance of self care.

I'm enjoying color in my world once again, this

winter sure was a long one and these next few

months I'm going to inhale the colors we're 

blessed with.

by way too quickly! 

Another Year Gone By

It's hard to fathom how fast time is passing, it seems

only a few short months ago I was celebrating my 50th...

today it's 51! 

I set out yesterday with my DSLR in hand as well as my

tripod as I wanted to capture a final shot of me at 50, 

it's no easy feat to take a self portrait but I pulled it off...

sort of! lol  Thanks to each of you who have been here

commenting on my photos, for the friendships, 

and for the kind words you have all shared with me,

I hope to be back here a bit more often during these summer months,

I miss all of you and sharing our lives with one another, all one

photo at a time.

It's been a while

I haven't visited my blog in some time now, life is busy with

my practicum in full swing and studies on the side, this and 

I'm getting my lawn all fixed up for the few beautiful months

I'll get to enjoy it. I also get out when I can, for sanity's sake

more than anything, I'm far from being a confined person

and need to do things which stimulate my senses. 

One thing I love to do is to be out on a bike,

a Harley to be more precise and I had the opportunity

to do just this last weekend. I rode with a friend and 

it was utterly exhilarating! 

I've had my beautiful princess over for an evening

and we're always finding creative things to do, 

this time it was color my sidewalks and what

fun this was! I had to dig deep into my memory

bank to remember how to play hopscotch,

but it came back to me. 

I love this time of year, the buds are blooming, color

is transpiring in my world and it's time to get out

in the world and do more of what makes my heart dance,

whatever it might be in the moment.

The Christening

I was invited yesterday to a christening and birthday celebration, 

this young fella turned one, he's so adorable! 

I rather like this next shot, the actual christening. 

Yup, start them young and pray for the best...

Elyssa's 4th Birthday

Yesterday we celebrated Elyssa's 4th birthday, it's so hard to

believe she's already 4!  We were at a place called The Treehouse

and what a fun place. They have a massive indoor playground, one

which even adults can play in if they'd like, naturally I was right in there

sliding down the slides. My daughter, middle son and myself even

had a race going down the three slides. What a fun way to celebrate

turning four! 

The children all had an abundance of energy,

when we first got there, I'm sure there were

some exhausted children after the party though. 

Happy 4th Birthday sweetheart, 

Grammy loves you immensely and

looks forward to going back to play

at the Treehouse. What a novel idea! 

Sarah Smith

Last night I went to listen to Sarah Smith,  this lady has one 
of the most remarkable voices I have ever heard, I even
 got people bumps. ;-)  Sarah's not only a talented singer,

she's personality plus and vibrantly alive! 

It was a joy and honor to meet such a talented lady and I hope 
to  see her when she's back this way in August performing at one 
of our festivals.

Busy and Blessed Weekend

I sit here tonight tired, but not too tired to post. I've been

missing my blog and all of you wonderful people, but 
sometimes life is just like that.  

This weekend it's been a fantastic fun filled 
weekend.  Friday night I went to listen to one of my

favorite entertainers...

Jimmy Whiffen

After a late night and some fantastic music I was

still up early Saturday morning, I wanted to bake a

gluten free cake and this is the first time I've ever

attempted this so I wasn't sure how many cakes

I'd be making til I got it right. First try it seemed

to be alright, I learned gluten free cake mixes

don't rise as high as a regular cake, so I added 

chocolate pudding in the center and no problem,

it seemed to work. 

The cake was for a birthday dinner, both my oldest

son and his wife have April birthdays and this was the 

earliest date we were all available to go out to

dinner, which was a fantastic dinner!
